Benchmarktracking
Statistics generates a report about activity
on my Web site. Where does it get the information? |
 |
Benchmarktracking
information relies on the small JavaScript
that gathers information from your visitors
to your website. This JavaScript then sends
data to our servers, where it is analyzed
and stored in an Oracle database. Reports
are created by querying the data stored
in this database. |
| |
|
 |
When
and how can I view my reports? |
 |
Your reports
should be available within minutes of adding
our code to your Web pages, and from that
point on are available 24 hours a day, 7
days a week, 365 days a year. We do perform
regular maintenance, but this will not interfere
with your tracking information. |
| |
|
 |
I have
multiple virtual domains and sub-domains.
Does it provide me with separate reports
for each? |
 |
Yes.
You can create separate sites for each of
your virtual domains, and report independently
on them. |
| |
|
 |
Can I freely distribute
my reports to others? |
 |
No problem! 'Add and
Edit Users' option available under the General
Administration menu allows you to add multiple
users who can view your report just by typing
in their e-mail addresses and names. Also,
you can within any report screen easily
email reports to whomever you wish. |
| |
|
 |
How accurate is your
service? |
 |
Benchmarktracking Statistics
is based on a modification of traditional
logfile analysis, such as Analog, http-analyze
etc. While not all browsers provide each
piece of information that we report on (2.x
and 3.x browsers in particular), this service
is able to track users thorough Proxy Servers
(such as AOL), thereby increasing accuracy
when reporting on user information.
We track using client-side cookies, hits logged on our server and other parameters to ensure maximum accuracy.
|
| |
|
 |
Is there a limit to
the number of pages I can track on my site? |
 |
No. You decide how many
page views you wish to track on a monthly
basis. |
| |
|
 |
What exactly do I need
to do to get started with this? |
 |
You simply install a
couple lines of java code we provide (see
example) on your web pages you wish to track.
The code is not visible to your visitors. |
| |
|
 |
Will this code damage
my site in any way and does it interfere
with other tracking utilities I might use? |
 |
No. This code is invisible
and harmless.
Benchmarktracking uses 3-4 variables to track your customized actions
e.g. __ACTION, __AMOUNT. These variables must not be used for/by any other tracking code.
|
| |
|
 |
Will this service slow
down my Web site? |
 |
No. The Javascript code
that is on your pages loads within fractions
of a second. Our company maintains multiple
Internet connections for this service. Additionally,
our servers are top of the line servers
with redundant hard-drives that are load-balanced,
backed up, and maintained by the experts
of our web hosting company to guarantee
maximum up-time. |
| |
|
 |
Does the service work
behind a corporate firewall? Can I track
extranet traffic? |
 |
Yes. But, you should
test the solution in your specific environment. |
| |
|
 |
Will I have to enter
a credit card number for the free trial? |
 |
No, you won't. This
is a 15 day limited time free trial without
any obligations. |
| |
|
 |
How do you handle my
personal data? |
 |
Benchmaktracking is
firmly committed to the privacy of customers
and visitors. Please see our Privacy
Policy. |
| |
|
 |
What Web server software
and operating system do I have to use? |
 |
Benchmarktracking Statistics
is OS and Web Server Platform Independent.
Macintosh, Unix, Windows, even home grown
Web server solutions can be tracked through
the same Benchmarktracking Statistics console. |
| |
|
 |
Is the service secure? |
 |
Yes. Only those pages
with HTML codes are tracked. Server log,
network, and user specific data remain confidential. |
